Team Manager – Ireland
Padraig (Paudie) has been a highly competitive athlete in many sports at both underage and adult level, competing in both individual and team sports.
Running at all Ireland level schools cross country, playing high level soccer, GAA and teeing off as a single figure golfer, Paudie also participated in Tae-kwon-do, karate and kick boxing.
Following a serious knee injury, Paudie rediscovered his passion for running. This eventually led him to Davey Black Triathlon and into starting as a pure beginner in triathlon over ten years ago.
Hard work and determination saw him slowly improve his swim to a level that allowed him to make the move from 70.3 to full Ironman distance racing.
Paudie has managed to complete three full Ironman distance races to date. He has done this through specific and targeted training that has been planned week to week while balancing family, work and studying at college for an additional degree and a Master’s Degree. While juggling family, work and training can be difficult finding the right balance is key and it’s something Paudie strives to achieve by making the most of every session.
